Cincinnati, Houston and Tulane Take Home Outdoor Track and Field Honors



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly outdoor track and field honors for the week ending April 9.

Amere Lattin • So. • Houston • Missouri City, Texas
Lattin has earned Male Track Athlete of the Week for the third time this season after his performance in the hurdles events at the Houston Alumni Invitational. Lattin won both the 110m and 400m hurdle events in 13.73 seconds and 51.38 seconds, respectively. Both times are the top times in the conference and the 110m hurdles time is ninth in the NCAA this season.

Jessica Duckett • So. • Tulane • Houston, Texas
Duckett takes home her first Female Track Athlete of the Week award this outdoor season after her performance in the hurdle events last weekend at the Houston Alumni Invitational. Duckett posted the fastest time in the 100m hurdles this season, running a 13.46, and her time of 1:00.90 is the fourth fastest time in the conference in the 400m hurdles this year.

Macklin Tudor • Sr. • Cincinnati • Mount Orab, Ohio
Tudor won his second-straight Male Field Athlete of the Week award after winning the discus and finishing second in the shot put at the Tiger Track Classic. Tudor’s discus throw of 61.74m is tops in The American and second in the NCAA and his shot put mark of 18.77 is second in the conference this season.

Tonye’cia Burks • Jr. • Houston • Longview, Texas
Burks won her second Female Field Athlete of the Week award after winning the long jump at the Houston Alumni Invitational. Burks, who holds the top mark in the conference for the triple jump, posted the top mark in the long jump this week with a mark of 6.41m. The leap is also the seventh longest jump in the NCAA this season.
