Softball Heads into Final week of regular season play

The 2017 softball season will head into its final week with six American teams in action.

Conference play will finish up this weekend with Memphis traveling to UConn, USF visiting Houston, and Tulsa hosting UCF.

The Cougars will close their six-game road swing with a doubleheader at UT Arlington on Tuesday, May at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT.

UCF is traveling to Bethune-Cookman for a Wednesday meeting in Daytona Beach, Fla. The first pitch of a doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. ET.

After receiving votes in both USA Today/NFCA Top 25 and ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 polls for six weeks, Tulsa broke into the top 25 this week. The Golden Hurricane are now ranked 25/24 for the week.

Tulsa claimed their first American Athletic Conference regular season title and first since the 2014 season as they capped off the series sweep of East Carolina with a 2-0 shutout win on Sunday afternoon.


The American Athletic Conference Softball Championship begins next week, Thursday May 11th at East Carolina Stadium.
